It wasn't just footage that was removed from the finished cut of the episode - small bits of dialogue were given the chop too.

An example of this can be found during the scene where the three Doctors are locked up inside the Tower of London. Just as John Hurt was thrown into the room with his co-conspirators, he originally yelled "You can't lock me up with those two. I'll have my head off now!"

However, for reasons unknown, the line was axed in post-production. Moffat said that they were "fools" to not include it, because Hurt's delivery was hilarious.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
