Doctor Who: 14 Cool Details Steven Moffat Just Revealed About The Day Of The Doctor
9. This Line Was Added In ADR - And You Can Totally Tell
A funny little detail this one, but something that we felt was worth mentioning. Shortly after Ten's introduction, he runs off into the woods and threatens a fluffy bunny rabbit, before stumbling across Queen Liz, who's lying on the floor in the middle of a clearing.
When he sprints over to help her up, the camera stays in a wide position for the next few lines of dialogue. Liz asks, "that thing... what does it want of us?" to which the Doctor replies "that's what I'm trying to find out - probably just your planet."
It's a classic Tenth Doctor snarky one-liner, and as stated by Moffat, it was added in ADR - additional dialogue recording. Tennant recorded it in a studio somewhere, and it was placed over the top of the footage during editing.
And even though the camera is quite far back, if you look really closely at Tennant's face during this shot, you can clearly see that his lips aren't moving in sync with the dialogue. It doesn't really matter though, because it's not something you'd notice while watching normally.
