Doctor Who: 14 Most Paused Moments Of The Last Decade

Because sometimes you need time to recover.

Watching Doctor Who is an emotional rollercoaster, to say the very least. You're up one minute, down the next, and more often than not you're everywhere, anywhere and nowhere all at once which makes it especially difficult to maintain your grasp on what the hell is going on. After 51 years on our screens, the ongoing liaisons of that grand old man from time and space still possess the ability to shock us and generally the narrative twists and turns are just far too much for our Whovian brains to deal with. Sometimes, you need a little while to recover and you usually achieve that by hitting 'pause' on your remote momentarily whenever something particularly Earth shattering goes down in the weird and wonderful Whoniverse. Over the last 10 years, there's been plenty of that. So, in honour of the moments that made us want to throw our sonic screwdriver replicas at our TV screens, here's a countdown of the 15 most paused moments of the revived series so far. The scenes on this list were paused because they were just so damned mind boggling, not because you wanted to laugh at what was happening, so don't expect to see any pictures of Martha crying hysterically in that bog here. These are the scenes that left you screaming, "What? What? WHAT?!", and in the first entry of the list, the Tenth Doctor was saying it too...
