15. The Reapers - Father's Day
The Reapers were good antagonists in an episode in which there weren't any bad genuine guys. "Father's Day" gives us our first look at the rules of time travel and what can happen if they're broken. The whole thing is really Rose's fault, although you can also argue that it's Nine's unhealthy attachment to her (as a woman, as a human, as a friend, as a tether, however you want to look at it) and inability to tell her "no" and mean it for very long that got them into the mess. Still, he told her not to touch the infant version of herself, and that seems like a fairly easy direction to follow, Rose. Altogether, though, the Reapers were pretty good, and it gave viewers quite a shock when the creatures devoured the Doctor in a church. Granted, it was Nine and Season 1, so we hadn't yet seen the Doctor die or disappear and come back over and over again. The big reason why the Reapers shouldn't come back, however, is because the time paradox as established in the wonderful "Father's Day" has been broken time and time again (I'm looking at you, Season 5) without Reaper repercussions to the point that it would just be embarrassing to bring them back now.
