Doctor Who: 20 Things You Didn't Know About The Tenth Doctor

15. His Scottish Pseudonym

Tennant got a chance to flex his Scottish muscles in the Series 2 episode Tooth and Claw, which is set in the Highlands.

Upon meeting Queen Victoria in this episode, Tennant switches to his native voice, going by the pseudonym James McCrimmon. Rose then attempts to replicate his Scottish inflection, only to flop harder than a haggis from a second story window.

Classic Who novices might not be aware that that fake name, James McCrimmon, is a nod to Jamie McCrimmon, a Scottish companion who accompanied the Second Doctor in the late 1960s.

Jamie was played by actor Frazer Hines, and has appeared in more episodes of Doctor Who than any other companion.

The question is, does Tooth and Claw count as one of them?
