Doctor Who 2005 Cast: Where Are They Now?

10. Paterson Joseph

Doctor Who Bad Wolf Paterson Joseph
BBC Studios

Paterson Joseph had a small role in the 2005 series, appearing across two episodes - Bad Wolf, and The Parting Of The Ways - as game show contestant Rodrick.

Since then, he's done next to nothing in the movie space (which is strange, because he appeared in some huge films throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, like In The Name Of The Father, The Beach, and Aeon Flux), but his TV credits are numerous.

They include Law & Order: UK, The Leftovers, and 2007's Jekyll, which was written by former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat. His most recent projects are Channel 4's The End Of The F***ing World, and the NBC sci-fi show Timeless.

Besides simply appearing on Doctor Who, it's been rumoured that Joseph was once offered the title role, and whenever a new regeneration is imminent, he's a common pick on fan wishlists. Keep an eye on him in the build-up to Jodie's exit.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
