Doctor Who 2005 Cast: Where Are They Now?

11. Simon Pegg

Since he's one of the most recognisable British movie stars out there, the post-Doctor Who career of Simon Pegg probably doesn't need much of an explanation.

Unless, of course, you haven't been to the cinema in the last 16 years. And if that's the case... why would you do that to yourself?!

He's appeared in some of the biggest Hollywood hits of the 21st century, including the rebooted Star Trek trilogy, the Mission Impossible series, a couple of Ice Age films, a Star Wars: The Force Awakens cameo, and - best of all - the genius Cornetto Trilogy, which ran from 2004's Shaun Of The Dead, to 2013's The World's End.

Looking ahead, he and Tom Cruise have got a couple more Mission Impossible movies on the docket, and - weirdly - an Ice Age spinoff series centred around Pegg's character, Buck the weasel, is in the works for a 2022 release on Disney+.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
