Doctor Who: 24 Doctors Ranked From Worst To Best

12. The Movie Doctor

Surfing on the wave of Dalekmania in the 1960s came two film spin-offs that adapted Terry Nation's first two Dalek scripts. Stepping into the lead role was movie legend Peter Cushing. However, Cushing was not a Time Lord but a human genius called Dr Who. The TARDIS was knocked up in his back yard and resembles a shed a bit on the inside. Because why the hell not? Though remembered for its technicolour Daleks (which are truly splendid), Cushing makes a charming Doctor. Aged up rather like Clive Dunn's Corporal Jones in Dad's Army, Cushing's Doc is rather bumbling but still the Doctor the show's fans know and love. He sports a rather natty outfit, too. Roy Castle and Bernard Cribbins plays his male companions. Both Doctor Who and the Daleks and Daleks: Invasion Earth 2050 are great fun and, while not officially canon, Cushing deserves his place among the Doctors.
