Doctor Who: 30 NuWho Characters Who Would've Made Fantastic Full-Time Companions

1. Petronella Osgood

Doctor Who Blink
BBC Studios

Appeared in: The Day of the Doctor, Death in Heaven, The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion.

She's got the look. Question mark jumpers and Converse on feet. Long scarf around neck and geek chic glasses. Bow tie, erm, tied up with question mark collars. These are a few of the Doctor's favourite things. Plus, she's a dab hand at utilising his sonic sunglasses.

Thank goodness there was another Osgood; after Missy went bananas and callously disintegrated one version of the fan-favourite UNIT scientist.

We've been left with the tantalising prospect of how great the Doctor and Osgood (let's stick with that) would be travelling through all of time and space together on a few occasions. The Twelfth Doctor was typically straight to the point in Death in Heaven:

DOCTOR: All of time and space?

OSGOOD: Sorry?

DOCTOR: Just something for your bucket list.

And during a watchalong of The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion, Ingrid Oliver tweeted: "I so wanted to go in the TARDIS. The script said no but my mind was screaming yes." We all were, Ingrid.
