Doctor Who: 4 Ways Peter Capaldi Will Be Better Than Matt Smith

1. No More Whiny Fangirls Who Love The Whole Amy/Rory/Doctor/River Family Thing

Doctor Who 11th Hour 1 For those who do not inhabit the dark realm of Tumblr, you may have missed the outrage of a lot of hormonal teenage girls screeching "EWW THE FOURTH DOCTOR IS SO UGLY!" Tom Baker, it's ok, I still love you. However, the fact of the matter is that when Tennant died, his lovable collection of friends moved on. Rose and her family were well out of the picture, Mickey had returned to our universe and married Martha, Jack was sitting in a bar mourning the fact that Torchwood was cancelled, Donna was off and married, and Wilf sits on the hill watching the stars. They're all gone now, and Smith's era brought a lovable new family. However, his time is drawing to a close, and so Moffat started to cull out the remains. River is dead (sort of), Amy and Rory are dead (also sort of) and so all we have left is the Victorian Reptile Detective, her wife, and their psychotic potato friend. Whilst I do love Strax, I wouldn't be too fussed if they disappeared when Capaldi takes over, abandoning the Smith era entirely and potentially returning to the teacher/student relationship of the classic era.
