Doctor Who: 5 Great Uses For A Cyber-Head

1. A PA For The Doctor

Doctor Who Cyberman Head

In Dalek, the Ninth Doctor expressed sorrow that a Cyberman's head had been installed as an attraction in a rich man's collection of space artefacts. He clearly made no bones when it came to his own requirements, however, as by the time he'd regenerated into Matt Smith he was using one as a ghoulish accessory to aid his journey during the final installment for the Eleventh, The Time of the Doctor.

"Handles", as he got christened, was arguably the biggest insult to the Cyber race in the show's fifty-odd years. Granted, there's no love lost between Time Lord and Telosian - they were responsible for the demise of former companion Adric and of course they put Amy through the wringer - but giving his offbeat invention the voice of comedian Kayvan Novak? Talk about sticking the knife in!

As it turned out, the chirpy "head case" was a short-lived member of the TARDIS crew (at least onscreen) and Peter Capaldi's ensuing incarnation hasn't seen fit to resurrect him for another outing. This latest evolution is the apex of the tricky, diverse and really rather odd relationship between Doctor Who and the heads of his famous adversary!

Are there any other uses for a Cyber-Head that have been left out of this list? Do you have any of your own suggestions the show hasn't featured yet? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
