Doctor Who: 5 Places The Doctor Should Go Next (On Earth)
5. Africa
When you think of Africa, you probably think of poverty and giraffes. Doctor Who could do so much in debunking the stereotypes surrounding Africa. They could take a big step in showing Africa for the rich rainbow of culture it really is. It will probably be a long time before fans ever see an episode like this, though - if ever. There were some accusations a couple years ago that Doctor Who is racist in casting. The truth is that every television show is pretty much whitewashed, as are many movies. Just look at every biblical movie. Most biblical movies take place in the Middle East. As great of an actor as Christian Bale undisputedly is, he probably shouldn't be cast as Moses. But back to Doctor Who. It's actually the Moffat years that seem to be more whitewashed. Danny was really the only major character who wasn't white in the Moffat years. Davies had his issues, too, but there was a much larger range of who was cast. Doing an episode in Africa would not only be a reason to cast black actors (maybe even actors from Africa), but it would also make for a very interesting and very educational storyline, too.
