Doctor Who: 5 Ridiculous 12th Doctor Casting Rumours That Won't Happen

1. David Tennant

doctor-who-end-of-time-2 That little known actor from that little drama that was shown one night last summer on€oh€no€that David Tennant. As is The Tenth Doctor who left the show three and a half years ago? This rather amusing article appeared on IGN.com a couple of days ago. In the furore over who will play the 12th Doctor, IGN (a site I visit a lot BTW) held a debate. Who did IGN readers want to follow up from Matt Smith this Christmas? Fair enough. No desire to vote myself but it€™s a bit of fun. There were the usual classics buzzing around the Internet. Ben Whishaw (Q from Skyfall), Richard Madden (The recently deceased King of the North from Game of Thrones), Idris Elba (Luther). All solid choices. But way out with 36.12% was David Tennant. Don€™t believe me? Head over to IGN. The many things I find ridiculous about this rumour is: 1) He€™s already played the Tenth Doctor. And the Tenth€™s Doctor€™s clone. Doctor Who is about change. People really need to move on. 2) You could probably get David Tennant back for future guest spots. (Doctor or clone version€.though I€™d rather not the latter). He€™s already doing the 50th special. Don€™t be greedy people. 3) Again, this show€™s about change. The audience needs to look forward, not back. As in the 12th Doctor. Not the 10th. 4) He left Doctor Who because he wanted to go out on a high and do other things. Commendable as an actor. Chances of him returning full time€0.000000% 5) IT DOESN€™T MAKE ANY SENSE! How can the 10th Doctor be the 12th? Degeneration? (I€™m sure there could be some wibbly wobbly timey wimey reason€but no!) I loved David Tennant. I can watch him again and again on DVD. Or this November. But I want to see who€™s coming next. Unless they€™re going with a Paul McGann series. I could easily live with that. What do you think? Ridiculous or am I over-reacting? Or have I missed something even more insane than the above? Please let me know your comments!
