Doctor Who - 5 Russell T Davies Era Monsters That Should Return (& 5 That Shouldn't)

5. Should - The Abzorbaloff

Doctor Who Love & Monsters
BBC Studios

Do the writers want a challenge? Try bring back the Abzorbaloff and make it a good story. While you may be reading this and rolling your eyes, just consider how great it would be if the writers could find a way to take one of the most divisive monsters among fans, and reinvent them to be a serious threat to The Doctor.

It isn't like the Abzorbaloff is a harmless monster. The thought of the slimy looking green blob grabbing you and literally absorbing you into his body is actually horrifying. If the episode wasn't framed as a comedy and instead really leaned into the gross horror of it all, the Abzorbaloff could be reinvented as a great foe for The Doctor to face.

Want to add even more difficulty? Cast Peter Kay again if he's up for it. Give him a chance to prove that he can be taken seriously as a Doctor Who monster. Just avoid making jokes about having a love life with a cement slab, and you're golden.
