4. We Will Not Find Out The Doctor's Name

Despite the name of the episode we seriously doubt that it's promise will come true.

As evidenced by the past Doctor Who works best when there is a serious amount of mystery surrounding the Doctor. When the show began we had no idea who he was, a crazy old man from the future, a killer, a saint? In fact even the name of his home planet was kept secret for the first ten years of the show. The word Gallifrey wasn't even mentioned until the 1973 serial 'The Time Warrior'.

This sort of mystery is just the heart of the show. The Doctor only really works when he is, to the audience beyond human comprehension. We get hints about him. His alien anatomy and his special abilities but we don't get how he works, how he operates completely. One of the reasons that Matt Smith works so well is his insanity, we see that he has logic and sense it's just not the same logic as ours. But how does this all relate to the Doctor's Name? Well its just the simplest representation of the mystery of the Doctor. We don't know his name, we don't know who he was.

This prediction basically comes from a place of empathizing with the show runner. When you get Doctor Who you need to keep it being the same show it always has been at heart. You can't turn it into something else. You can't kill off the Doctor or have him give up a life of Time Travel to live with Miranda Hart in the restaurant run by that gay man. At the end of your tenure you need to put things back to the way they were to allow a new production team to do their own thing with it. Its just manners and the Doctor's biggest secret must remain in place for that to happen.
