2. Death Of A Companion
We're almost certain that one of these people will die. But who and why? 1.
Strax or
Vastra: In the Next Time trailer we see a shot of Strax crying out 'Die reptile!' wielding a metallic pole of some kind. Perhaps Strax battle with his war-like nature has been lost and the two former friends may fight to the death. 2. The evidence for
River Song is clear. In the aforementioned trailer we see a shot of her tomb stone, what's more the episode was initially rumored to be called 'The Funeral of River Song'... (besides it may be time to lay this plot arc to rest) 3. The third version of
Clara that we've met's time is surely up. After only a few hours of meeting the Doctor the other two lost their lives. Perhaps once again the multiple girl will give her life to save the Doctor. 4. And
Jenny, well from a writing stand point she's the easiest to write out. She doesn't do very much and her death would be very emotional for Vastra bringing in much needed 'drama'. So why must one (or more) go? Well its a series finale, the stakes are higher and the odds are out. With such a crowded room of allies it seems difficult to believe that a stray bullet wouldn't hit one of them. There's going to be a death... surely!
