Doctor Who: 6 Biggest Dalek Triumphs Of The New Series

One of the most interesting parts of the Series 2 finale was the introduction of the secret Dalek think-tank, the Cult of Skaro. A supposedly legendary group engineered by the Daleks to think outside the box to find more ways of exterminating enemies, they had traits normal Daleks didn't have, such as names. Their appearance also added to the mythos of the Time War threaded throughout the revival's opening series, making it more mysterious and beguiling.

It didn't hurt that they had some of the best one liners of the series, either. Lines such as, "This is not war - this is pest control!" made them instant hits with fans.

In spite of a dimished return in the Series 3 two-parter Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks, they maintained a decent threat level, always being intimidating on screen through their ruthlessness and sneaky intelligence. Additionally, they remain important throughout the Russell  T Davies era. Dalek Caan's later appearance, where he has gone insane and become prophetic as a result of seeing the time vortex, is one of the best parts of the Series 4 finale, and he's a big part of the criticism of the Dalek's worldview within that story.

Because of all of this, the Cult of Skaro are definitely one of the Dalek triumphs of the new series.
