Doctor Who: 6 Ways Last Christmas Showed Clara's Perfect With The 12th Doctor

2. 62 Years Later

When the Doctor awoke from his dream and was in a desolate looking area (just where was he anyway?), he immediately jumped in his TARDIS and rushed to Clara's aid. Knowing that she would be the last one to wake up, he had the time to calibrate his sonic screwdriver to emit a frequency that would remove the Dream Crab from her face safely. Upon doing so, he was shocked (as were the viewers) to see that she had aged tremendously since the last time he truly 'saw her'. Even though so much time had passed, she wasn't upset over being abandoned as she was able to live a full - although single - life. Most people would hold a slight grudge if their best friend left them for over 60 years, but not Clara. She understands he's a time traveller and has too much love (platonic, it's worth pointing out) for this man to ever hold a grudge against him - at least for too long, anyway. As it turns out, though, this whole scene was a dream but it says a lot about the show's too central characters nonetheless.
