1. The Doctor Is Her Santa Claus
Toward the end of Last Christmas, when everybody had been rescued by Santa Claus and riding on his sleigh (as you do), the Doctor asked Clara is she believed in Santa Claus. He had previously asked her this question at the start of the episode but this time it prompted a firmer answer from Clara who replied that she did indeed believe in Santa, though her version of him had always looked a little different. Aww. Santa is many things to many people but he is always a sign of hope, of goodwill and joy to all men. Needless to say, these are all things that the Doctor brings to Clara's life, too. It was this point more than any that revealed Clara had made a mistake by stepping away from the TARDIS and she was granted her Christmas wish because she'll be back in Series 9 for timey-wimey adventures anew. Clara has seen every incarnation of the Doctor and was quite upset when Matt Smith's Doctor left her to be with an older, grumpier man. She soon warmed to the Twelfth Doctor and has grown to care for him as best friends. Who knows, perhaps she's even what he needs to truly find Gallifrey once and for all? Viewers will find out later this year when both Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman reprise their roles as the Doctor and Clara Oswald. Is it autumn yet!? What do you think of this list? Was there anything else from Last Christmas that highlighted why this version of the Doctor is now "Clara's Doctor"? Add to the discussion in the comments below!
