Well, either that or he's just acting out of character for some yet to be revealed reason. A "don't give a damn" Sherlock Holmes-like Doctor might seem like a good idea on paper but the way it's been executed has reversed the development of his character. No one minded that he was a selfish grumpy old man in his first incarnation, because he was yet to be the guy that cares about humanity, but since then, he have evolved. 50 years have gone by. By now, he had made friends with a lot of soldiers, made iconic speeches about how special humanity is. Why, then, is the series now pretending that these good qualities are a secret, especially since The Day of the Doctor just reaffirmed what kind of person he actually is? What if the Twelfth was in The Day of the Doctor except for the cameo? Would he be "the man who does not give a f**k"? Would he be that guy who says "Let's kill Galifrey!"? Because his personality dictates that he would decide that quickly and would not listen to anyone saying anything otherwise. The last time incarnation of the Doctor who was out of character was the Sixth Doctor, who was rightfully scorned by critics and fans alike. Why is the Twelfth given a pass? Maybe because he is the first old aged Doctor since the new series started, or the first 'serious' Doctor for a long while. Everyone wants to be the guy who says, "You just hate him for being different", but maybe that keeps us from seeing how out of character he truly is. What did you think of this list? Are there any other reasons why the Twelfth Doctor actually sucks? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
