Doctor Who: 7 Things You Need To Know About The Doctor's Meditation Prequel
3. The Doctor Is No Better At Magic
"Day 17" says yet another caption.
Still outside, the Doctor is doing a magic trick, making coins in his palm disappear. Bors approaches and informs the Doctor, "Everyone has agreed on the plan for the throne room extension, but we're not quite sure what you mean by a 'sun roof'."
"Look at this coin? See it?" says the Doctor. Bors confirms he can see it, giving up on the briefing. "Where is it now?" asks the Doctor, doing another vanishing trick with the object. But Bors points to the exact hand the Doctor's hiding it in, saying, "It's there."
"No, it isn't," lies the Doctor. "Yes, it is, I saw it," insists Bors. "Are you sure?" queries the Doctor sadly. "I really a very good magician."
Cutting to the chase, Bors says, "What is it you dread?"
The Doctor hardly knows how to answer. Eventually, he says, "Why would I dread anything?"
"You're always making jokes. You never sit still. Like you're running in fear of days to come."
"Thought you were an idiot," replies the Doctor, knowing Bors has hit the nail on the head.
"I know, I thought that too," admits Bors.
"Good. I was worried I was going to have to break it to you." The Doctor gets up and starts walking. Now, they are getting to the point of the Doctor's visit.
