Doctor Who: 8 Actors That Would Make AMAZING Doctors!

6. Eddie Redmayne

Doctor Who Hugh Grant

Eddie Redmayne's portrayal of Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts series alone demonstrates that he could effortlessly play the Doctor. So much so that we can see an inner-timelord exploding from him, as seen by his eccentric messy hair and fascination with strange and fascinating creatures. It wouldn't be a surprise if Redmayne's character, Newt Scamander, was an incarnation of the Doctor all along! But let's save that fan theory for another day!

Already used to playing a role in a fantastical environment, Redmayne's charisma as an actor already reveals doctor-like mannerisms. So watching him operate the TARDIS in time and space seems almost perfect for the actor, from his quirkiness and adventurous energy. Although, the Doctor Who crew may fear that Redmayne's peculiarities are too similar to Matt Smith's incarnation, we would still love to see him take on the iconic role.

It almost seems criminal that Redmayne has still yet to portray the timelord, but we can only hope in terms of the future! If not the doctor, Redmayne should be the next companion or even villain in the new series!
