Doctor Who: 8 Actors That Would Make AMAZING Doctors!

3. Tilda Swinton

Doctor Who Hugh Grant
20th Century Fox

Tilda Swinton as the Doctor feels like such a perfect fit that we're surprised she hasn't appeared in the show before, even as a supporting character!

If we had to pick a role where we could sense Tilda Swinton's Doctor bursting from her, it would have to be The White Witch from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Her ethereal and mysterious portrayal in the Narnia film shows that she could deliver a magical interpretation of the iconic timelord through a dominant presence and ability to alter moods swiftly but elegantly.

In terms of playing the fourteenth Doctor, this could be precisely what the show requires. Tilda Swinton's transformation from Whittaker's quirky, awkward Doctor into a mystical yet glamorous portrayal seems ideal for the programme to change things up.

Her depth as an actress might make her portrayal of the Doctor one of, if not the best, we've ever seen. Like her character, Ancient One says in Doctor Strange, "Arrogance and fear still keep you from learning the simplest and most significant lesson of all", which already sounds like something her Doctor would say.

She'd undoubtedly be a female version of Capaldi's incarnation, driving her interpretation with intelligence and grit. We're seriously hoping for this entry to become a reality...
