Doctor Who: 8 Characters Maisie Williams Might Be Playing

OK, so she probably won't be playing her character from Game of Thrones, unless the BBC have finally lost the plot and/or are going all out to capitalise on the success of their rival HBO series by treating fans to a fully blown crossover (oh, imagine how fun that would be!). It was still worth mentioning Maisie's alter ego Ayra Stark, though, since it's the role for which she has become internationally acclaimed. Widely cited as one of the franchise's greatest characters, Maisie has been lauded for her portrayal of this headstrong heroine with an abundance of prestigious award nominations to her name. Although it's never gonna happen (seriously, she won't be playing Ayra in Doctor Who - that development would be unequivocally far fetched, even by Steven Moffat's questionable standards!), you can't deny that Ayra would more than fit the bill as a character who would "challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways". Fiercely independent, cunning and ruthlessly resourceful, our Time Lord would finally meet his match if Ayra were to ever step aboard the TARDIS. It's a shame she won't be then, but there are still some other exciting possibilities...
