7. River Song
Admit it. You were all thinking it. River Song has become such an all encompassing force within the realms of the Doctor Who universe that these days it's more of a surprise when a character isn't a regenerated version of Amy and Rory's psychopathic off spring. Even Clara Oswald was rumoured to be her at one point (she's impossible, yes, but not that impossible!), and don't even get us started on the long standing theory that River is secretly Rose Tyler. Seriously, guys. Build a bridge, yeah? OK, so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but there was a time where it seemed like River was popping up all over the shop. That's probably because she literally was (though not, as it turns out, in the actual shop as the woman who gave Clara the Doctor's number, which would've made a lot more sense!), but it's safe to say that most of her past storylines were so far fetched - nay, borderline barbaric - that reintroducing her in the guise of Maisie Williams would seemingly be the next (relatively) logical step. After all, River's timeline is so nonsensical that fans have watched her born, grow up and die (but not necessarily in that order), so meeting her as a teenager - again - wouldn't be anything other than ordinary. It would be bloody annoying, of course, but ordinary nonetheless. So, let's just accept that Maisie Williams is River Song. That is, unless she isn't...
