If you're looking for the most fitting character to return as a way of marking the 10th anniversary of the show's revival then look no further than Captain Jack Harkness, surely the most successful character created for NuWho. It looks like Jack's own spin off show Torchwood won't be coming back to our screens any time soon (as creator Russell T Davies is busy with new shows such as Cucumber and Banana) yet Jack is still a character with much potential and the actor and his legion of fans are constantly calling for him to come back. Well, it's sort of now or never this year as a return for Jack in Series 9 would be perfect timing. What's more, the Twelfth Doctor and Captain Jack would be a brilliant double act. You can imagine that they would share a similar friendship to the Doctor and Robin Hood last year. The Doctor would be outwardly snarky to the charming and heroic Jack but would inwardly respect him. Or maybe, of course, they just wouldn't get on at all. After all, 'Captain' Jack is a soldier and everyone knows (especially poor Danny Pink) how Twelve feels about the military. Still, it would certainly be interesting and their meeting needs to happen this year. Fingers crossed, everyone! What did you think of this list?
