Doctor Who: 8 Classic Monsters That Should Return In Series 9

8. The Meddling Monk

Okay, Moffat! Imagine this: A strange woman dressed in a nuns' habit seems to be stalking the Doctor. Viewers know nothing about her except that her name is Medley... Short for Meddling... As in 'Meddling Monk'...?! Yeah, you're right. That sounds a bit familiar, doesn't it? So, fair enough, the Meddling Monk (aka The Monk, or Mortimus, for short) isn't technically a 'monster', nor is he as well known as other Time Lord enemies of the Doctor, but he is remembered fondly by die-hard fans. First appearing in The Time Meddler (the clue was in the title!), the Monk is best known for gallivanting about time and space and mucking things up for his own sick sense of glee. One of the most literal antitheses of the Doctor, the Monk takes pleasure in, well... meddling. This naturally causes some headaches for the Doctor and a newly regenerated incarnation of the character could make for a truly exciting over-arching story line.

Christie D. Inman-Hall hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
