The end of Series 12 raised more questions than it answered. It threw the entire Whoniverse into disarray, and rather than looking like an interesting route to take the character of The Doctor down, it looked more like a sure-fire way to keep the name 'CHRIS CHIBNALL' in Whovian's minds forever. It doesn't matter if the lawn is all chewed up and burned now, 'CHRIS' is written in big letters in The Doctor's front garden.

So how old is The Doctor? How many forms have they truly had? What caused them to run from Gallifrey as the Fugitive? How does 'The Division' tie into this? Where does the lineage we know from 1963 fit in? These are but a fraction of the things we need to know, and this isn't something we're going to be content with being slowly drip-fed over the next ten series, as it's all being worked out as we go along. Here's hoping there's actually some concrete basis to this revelation, and wasn't just a fat stone being thrown into a huge lake, resulting in ripples that actually have no clue whether they're coming or going.
