Doctor Who: 8 Reasons A Female Master Isn't The End Of The World

1. Why Not?

Basically... why not? Why shouldn't the Master be female? There are no narrative rules against it - it's already been established that Time Lords are more than capable of changing their gender during the regeneration process so it's not like the show has gone against its own mythology by bringing him back as a woman. The ones who have been complaining would also be the first ones to complain if the Master had been brought back as John Simm ("It's so unoriginal!" "Are they running out of ideas!?") so it looks like the show is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't. Some people will never be happy but Steven Moffat will be laughing all the way to the bank. Suffice to say, it's something the Doctor Who universe will be discussing for some time to come. What do you think of this list? Do you think a female Master is the end of the world or are you happy to accept Missy in her latest incarnation? Join the conversation in the comments section below.
