3. Separate Episode/Minisode?
We've covered various ways the Tenth Doctor and Donna could return to Doctor Who, but where will they actually make this appearance in 2023?
Very little is revealed about this appearance, and the 60th in general, but an option that is raised is whether this could be a separate piece of content to the expected main specials.
At this point we're unsure whether we will receive a bumper special in similar vain to the Day of the Doctor, or a special anniversary series. The specific wording of their announcement reads: "they are set to reunite with screenwriter [RTD] to film new scenes that are due to air in 2023, coinciding with Doctor Who's 60th anniversary celebrations".
That's an interesting way to phrase it, as it is specific about scenes which coincide, rather than simply saying they will make an appearance in the main 60th celebration.
Could this literally mean scenes featuring in the 60th, or scenes/a minisode that will release in during 2023? Either way, I don't think we care beyond seeing this iconic duo back together, we just love to know every little detail.
