Doctor Who: 9 Best Moments Of Classic Science Fiction Romance In NewWho

7. I am Oswin Oswald. I fought the Daleks and I am human. Remember me.

i fought the daleks €œAsylum of the Daleks€ begins with the Daleks demanding that the Doctor save them from whatever is happening at the Asylum. It turns out that what€™s happened is Oswin, who€™s wrecked the place so badly the Daleks fear a tsunami of insane Daleks. During the episode, several Dalekized humans appear. People with eye-stalks sticking out of their heads, people who have been erased and turned into puppets. In the heart of the asylum, behind a door in a room where the most insane Daleks were chained, there was a room that held a Dalek who believed she was human. Oswin was torn from her body, had her brain re-written and linked into a telepathic web with the most murderous race in the universe, and her soul was shoved into a shell. But she beat them anyway. She made them cry uncle and beg their worst enemy for help. She ripped the memory of their greatest enemy from their minds, saving him and leaving them vulnerable. And she did all this, in spite of the fact that by all rights she should have been destroyed. If that isn€™t romantic hope for the resilience of the human spirit, I don€™t know what is.
