6. Companion Compatibility

While it's certain that Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor had a sparkling rapport with Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald, the shift in their relationship since Peter Capaldi took over the show's title role is truly something to behold. At once, the dynamic changed and the pair found themselves having to re-establish their friendship. What followed was a truly dazzling rollercoaster ride of emotional upheaval. The Doctor seems to have found the change in Clara's perception of him hard to deal with, especially as in The Caretaker he assumes that her boyfriend is the Matt Smith lookalike Adrian. Similarly, Clara at first seems to find that the Doctor's new look and personality is difficult to accept. However, over the course of Series 8, their relationship seems to have endured and matured in spite of a variety of ups and downs. It was recently revealed that Jenna Coleman had plans to leave the show last year but later changed her mind and it remains to be seen just how their relationship will continue to develop in 2015.
