Without a doubt, the plot of the Series 8 two-part finale is one of the darkest in Who history.

Having being teased for the entire series, speaking with the recently deceased, Michelle Gomez is revealed to be playing Missy, the female incarnation of the Master. But what was she doing speaking to the recently deceased?

Using Dark Water technology, rain clouds over the graveyards and morgues around the globe transformed the dead into Cybermen. Or in Missy's own words, the graves of planet Earth all gave birth...

As a result, everyone who has ever died in the Whoniverse became a Cyberman, notably including Danny Pink and controversially Who legend Brigader Alistar Gorden Lethbridge-Stewart.

Towards the end of the episode, Missy reveals her motives to be that she wanted to provide the Doctor with an army, starting the theme that Missy wants her friend back. Of course the Doctor would never accept an army, but an army made from the dead of Earth? Double no.

The episode even received a heavy amount of complaints for the dark subject matter after airing.

This list has shown numerous atrocious acts, but this has to top that list every time.
