Doctor Who Cast: Where Are They Now?
5. Arthur Darvill - Rory Williams
Rory Williams was arguably somewhat of a Series One Mickey Smith rehash at first. A pining love interest for the main female companion who is often left behind as she jets off for adventures in time and space with the Doctor.
As the show went on, however, Darvill showed that Rory was also a force to be reckoned with and would stop at nothing to keep his friends safe.
Darvill's first major role after leaving Doctor Who in 2012 was, like David Tennant, crime drama Broadchurch. He played the well-meaning reverend of the sleepy seaside town, Paul Coates, in all three series of the acclaimed show.
After a brief appearance as historical figure Henry Stafford in medieval drama The White Queen, Darvill appeared in Legends of Tomorrow as another one of his best known roles, time-travelling rogue Rip Hunter.
He has also appeared in several audio dramas for Big Finish, included their ongoing Torchwood range and in the epic multimedia adventure Time Lord Victorious. Darvill will reprise his role as Rory Williams in the upcoming Big Finish series, The Lone Centurion.
