Doctor Who: Every 11th Doctor Episode Ranked Worse To Best
27. Hide
Hide was written to be an ode to the classic haunted house story with an abundance of thunder and lightning, candle drenched rooms and paranormal encounters. This, in a nutshell, was what was wrong with this episode though.
Instead of lovingly paying homage to the genre, it just becomes a generic copycat while adding nothing new to the formula. It does manage to obey the horror rule of ‘less is more’ when showing only fleeting shots of the mysterious monster. That is until the last few minutes when we see a rather naff looking rubber prosthetic monster confront the Doctor.
It boasts some great performances in lack of scares with Jessica Raine and Dougray Scott as the paranormal investigators which boosts this from the bottom of this list to nearer the middle.
