Doctor Who: Every Doctor Kiss Ranked Worst To Best

18. The Tenth Doctor And Martha Jones

Doctor Who New Earth Tenth Doctor Rose kiss

Sorry Martha Jones fans, but did this kiss actually mean anything?

On the run from a platoon of Judoon on the Moon (never gets old that), the Tenth Doctor enlists the aid of Martha to hold them off. How exactly? Well he kisses her in order to pass some of his alien DNA onto her, thereby confusing the Judoon's scanners.

While it may have helped save billions of lives in the grand scheme of things, was a kiss truly necessary? It just seemed like the writers wanted to force an obligatory Doctor/companion kiss out of them, as had become the custom at that time. But coming so soon after the 'death' of Rose Tyler, it just doesn't feel right at all. Plus it also gave Martha false hope that something romantic with the Doctor was on the cards, when it clearly wasn't.

But hey, at least Martha fans got something to cheer about and rightly so.
