What's Christmas without a little tragedy, eh?

2015's yuletide offering sees the Twelfth Doctor finally bid farewell to his beloved wife River Song, after years of the pair bumping into each other at various points across their respective timestreams.

This moment had been in the making for seven years, and it more than delivered on the feels. The Doctor and River's speech at the end of the episode tugs at the heartstrings with full force, leaving you weeping into your Christmas leftovers.

Unfortunately, this might not have been the best time to do this. A lot of casual viewers watch Doctor Who at Christmas, and they would've been left utterly befuddled as to why this River thing was so damn sad.

Still, for the diehards, The Husbands of River Song is near perfection, scoring top marks in the festive, emotion, and story departments.
