The wonderfully OTT abominable arachnid with her wicked Webstar is a fitting accompaniment to the traditional overindulgence at Christmas. Sarah Parish brings out the inner spider within, err, all of us with great gusto.
We see that darker side to the Tenth Doctor when he drowns the Empresses' children, who were ascending from the centre of the Earth - the sound of her anguished wailing makes you pity her, until you remember the Empress' plan of reawakening the Racnoss in time for a Christmas feast upon humanity.
