Here we have frenetic clever clogs Luke Rattigan, supposed inventor of the ingenious ATMOS device that cuts cars C0₂ emissions to zero. What a hero! Even better, you get a free sat-nav and £20 in shopping vouchers when you refer a friend.

So, what's not to like? Well, betraying your own kind by siding with the Sontarans when you're actually being used as a means to their world domination ends is very poor form. And wanting to up sticks from Earth entirely and restart the human race with the genius-level students from his academy on his very own "Rattigan's World", perfectly exemplifies Aristotle's quote that "no great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness".

Of course that utopian promise from the Sontarans was total BS, but Rattigan got his revenge by destroying Commander Staal, et al with a good old sacrificial redemption, and even added a satisfying emphasis on "ha" when exclaiming Sontar-ha!
