Doctor Who: EVERY NuWho Villain And Monster Ranked Worst To Best

80. Reapers

Doctor Who villains
BBC

Appear in: Father's Day.

With the appearance of frightening fellbeasts that pop up to "sterilise a wound" whenever some clever clogs decides to mess with a fixed point in time, and described by the Doctor as creatures that "nothing in the universe can harm", the screeching Reapers have been big-upped enough to be one of the mega monsters of the Whoniverse, right?

Nope.

It's one of the those age-old questions that's been covered here and there and will likely never be explained. Then again, having a recurring red-eyed monster devouring people, and the camera panning to pushchairs, children's bikes and shoes left abandoned, doesn't really fit in with the whole family show vibe.

Maybe the Reapers are like the Time Variance Authority - meaning, supposed nexus events, like the one the Doctor created on a certain 21 November 2059, were actually meant to happen after all. Yep, that explains it then.

The name's Colbourn, James - yeah, doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
