Doctor Who: EVERY NuWho Villain And Monster Ranked Worst To Best

Appears in: Doctor Who: Flux.

Old Swarm made an appropriately frightening impact on Halloween when breaking out from his badass containment chamber - he paralyses the Division's En Sentac, disintegrates her, then uses her life force to regenerate into the Paul Bettany-sounding, shoulder pad-loving Swarm.

There are many awesomely apocalyptic attributes to Swarm: he knows the Doctor during her Division days, with the pair of them engaged in conflict throughout the fabled Dark Times. He can transport himself anywhere across time and space with the snap of his fingers (that seems to be popular trait amongst villains) and, as previously mentioned, disintegrate anyone with the merest touch.

Swarm's ultimate goal is much Heath Ledger's "just want to watch the world burn" Joker in that he wants to unleash the destructive force of Time and thus "reign in hell". Unfortunately, this epically evil scope doesn't materialise effectively, or indeed engagingly, throughout Series 13 as Swarm gets lost in the myriad of monsters and villains - heck, he's not even in one of the episodes.

The name's Colbourn, James - yeah, doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
