14. Rose’s Return
By series 4, Doctor Who had trod fearlessly into the realms of epic, and this entire season hinted at something big on the horizon. Certain episodes made reference to entire planets disappearing, and more than one iconic Doctor Who character was set to make a return.
Throughout the series, viewers were eagerly able to yelp at various sightings of Rose Tyler, who could be seen in apparitions, monitor shots and other gems, right up until her full prophetic reveal in the classic Doctor-less episode, Turn Left.
It was a good work, and set the stage for the return of just about every Russel T Davis canon character in a spectacular, if a little cheesy, medley of defiance against a brand knew Dalek invasion. Unfortunately, seeing Rose once again kind of upset the tear-jerking goodbye forever scene between her and The Doctor, two seasons prior.
She was also a little more serious and assertive, which can only be down to good character development, but it still kind of made you wonder if they should have just left it.
