4. Yasmin Finney Is Playing Donna's Daughter
Yasmin Finney, who rose to fame in the recent Netflix hit Heartstopper, is another new cast member set to join the upcoming era. This exciting announcement took place in May, with Russell T Davies stating on Instagram:
"Welcome to the Whoniverse, Yasmin Finney! The star of the wonderful Heartstopper @netflixuk joins us for the 60th anniversary shoot, playing… Rose! Another Rose? But how? Who? Why? Where? What, what, what?!"
Despite the fact that some fans initially thought Finney would portray Billie Piper's Rose, it is now more widely believed that Finney will portray Donna's daughter, a claim that carries significant weight due to set leaks.
Finney's character has been spotted on set with Donna, Shaun (Donna's husband), Sylvia, and Wilf, who were the Noble family during Series 4. We've also seen Finney's character yell "Mum!" to Donna on set, which pretty much seals the deal.
It's certainly exciting to see Donna having her own family, which leads us to speculate that this new era is taking place in the present day. However, we won't know officially until next year.
