2. The Hollywood Handshake

If, for some strange reason, you don't watch The Great British Bake Off, then this fun little moment will have flown right over your head.

During an early scene in The Vanquishers where Joseph Williamson explains his tunnels to the Doctor, she responds by thanking him for his work, before leaving him with a much-coveted Hollywood handshake.

A Hollywood handshake is essentially the highest form of praise that Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood can bestow upon the contestants, usually being reserved for moments of genuine excellence.

It's a great honour, often leaving the recipient - like good ol' Giuseppe in the most recent series - in tears.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
