Continuing with Survivors Of The Flux, Kate Stewart's conversation with Prentis sounds like it might be a cheeky little nod/explanation of a famous Doctor Who continuity problem: the UNIT dating controversy.

The essence of this controversy is that, due to several dates mentioned during the classic series, the timeline of UNIT doesn't entirely add up.

It's been a contentious topic among Doctor Who fans for decades, and countless theories have attempted to explain it away - and now, Chibnall himself has had a go.

Here's the relevant part of Kate's dialogue:

"So I dug deep, past the tampered archives and doctored photographs, past the deleted incidents, altered names, changes to reports from the past five decades."

Basically, this is Chibnall saying that tampered archives, reports, and photographs have caused havoc with UNIT's file-keeping, resulting in those topsy-turvy dates that form the basis of the UNIT dating controversy.

Alternatively... we could be looking into it too much. You decide!

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
