Doctor Who Flux: 14 Best Easter Eggs You Might've Missed

10. The Doctor's "Shush!" Power

Getting into War Of The Sontarans now, and here's another unexpected callback, this one coming from the Eleventh Doctor episode Closing Time.

That episode finds Eleven reuniting with his old pal Craig Owens - played by James Corden - helping him babysit for the weekend while his wife is out of town.

To quiet down the baby, Eleven uses a "shush!" trick, one that he claims "only works once" and only on lifeforms with under-developed brains. He then uses the same trick on Craig, who clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

In War Of The Sontarans, this bizarre shushing power returns, only this time, the Thirteenth Doctor uses it on Mary Seacole, midway through a Sontaran interrogation.

Weirdly, this does imply that Mary Seacole has an under-developed brain, even though she's clearly an intelligent woman. But then again, compared to a Time Lord, every lifeform could be considered under-developed.
