The Doctor has always been handy in a scrap, whether it's with a sword, a spoon, or a jammy dodger - and in Series 13, these melee skills will come in handy once again, according to a quote from Whittaker:

"I also do sword fighting in this, or maybe it is best described as avoiding being got by a sword - I really loved that."
