6. "The World Has Been Disrupted... Because Of You"
While there isn't much interesting dialogue in the trailer, there are two specific lines that are worth unpacking.
The first is Yaz telling the Doctor that she's acting like a kid, and the Doctor replying "thanks." Although the tone of this exchange seems jokey and fun, it could be hinting at some friction between the two characters, particularly since Yaz seemed quite frustrated at the Doctor in Eve of the Daleks, even yelling at her to "stop leaving us all the time!" during one of the final time loops.
Maybe we're in for another Ten/Martha situation, where the companion likes the Doctor, but the Doctor just doesn't reciprocate, leading to that friction. Either way, "Thasmin" is bound to receive more development in Legend of the Sea Devils.
The other interesting line is "the world has been disrupted because of you... because of what you unleashed", which seems directed at Madame Ching. This line is accompanied by a beautiful shot of the sky looking rather, umm, disrupted.
Sure enough, Chibnall has previously stated that Ching "unleashes a terrifying evil" while hunting down the treasure, so what could this evil be? The Sea Devils? That Myrka creature? Or something else we don't know about yet?
Another possibility is that this is sneaky editing. Maybe Ching does unleash some sort of monster, but what if the line about disruption is actually aimed at the Doctor? Perhaps her actions in Flux have messed up the world in some way?
It does feel like there's more going on here than a simple Sea Devils story, and considering that this is Whittaker's penultimate episode, that wouldn't be a surprise.
