Doctor Who: Looking Back At The Multi-Doctor Stories

4. Dimensions In Time (1993)

Doctor Who Dimensions In Time This one€™s just... weird. And not Doctor Who weird, more €œWhat were they thinking€ weird. A short Children In Need special produced in 3D, Dimensions In Time reunited all of the surviving Doctors along with a huge number of companions and monsters. In an Eastenders crossover. No, stop giggling. It€™s real. The story saw the Third, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Doctors (with the Fourth Doctor having a more minor role similar to the First Doctor's in The Three Doctors) being trapped in Walford (the setting of Eastenders) in a twenty year time loop by renegade Time Lady the Rani. The Doctors meet up with various companions and Eastenders characters, and work together to break the Rani€™s time loop and escape Walford. Something I'm surprised the Eastenders characters weren't attempting as well It€™s a bizarre and frenetic mess of a story but it€™s campy fun in a €œSo bad it€™s good" sort of way and managed to be biggest ever gathering of Doctors so at least that€™s something. It€™s just a shame that it crossed over with Eastenders (which is pretty much Doctor Who's antithesis) and that the Doctors are never seen properly working together like in the other Multi-Doctor stories.
