Doctor Who Regenerations: Ranked From Worst To Best

5. The Tenth Doctor To The Eleventh Doctor

The Tenth Doctor's final moments not only made a number of fans cry but he also ended up blabbing himself. The Doctor's teary regeneration in this divisive scene is a topic which causes hot debate to this day amongst die hard fans. While the Doctor's apparent upset at having to regenerate seems out of place, given that it's been established that throughout each regeneration the Doctor still is, at heart(s), the same man, it was, perhaps Russell T Davies' tendency to make the Tenth Doctor into a messianic figure which inspired his infamous final words "I don't want to go...". In addition to this, the regeneration itself is literally explosive and leads to the Eleventh Doctor spending his first moments crash landing the TARDIS into Amelia Pond's garden. The transition, though not particularly soothing for fans, is a swift and punchy change which lends a great deal of drama to the occasion. Whether you loathe or love Tennant's final scene at the helm of the show, it's certainly memorable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVEY5AL5zzk
